TakeOFF is hosted within the advice section of and is available for all local schools, colleges and young people to access.
Following on from it’s exceptionally successful and award-winning forerunner BEACH, Brighton Employability Advice & Careers Hut, the Horsham District Youth Unemployment Task and Finish Group, led by Horsham District Council, agreed with the support of and Make Media, to design an employability microsite for young people in the Horsham District. This idea was then expanded to represent the West Sussex part of the Gatwick Diamond. A partnership between neighbouring Local Authorities of Horsham District, Crawley Borough and Mid Sussex District Councils was created with West Sussex County Council and The Gatwick Diamond Initiative. and the partners of the project recruited a project group of students from local secondary schools and a sixth form college. These students are the creative designers of Take OFF ‘Our Future First’ and the project would not have been so successful without them. They are the first Take OFF Crew!
  • Linking schools and local employers
  • Specific to the Gatwick Diamond area
  • Designed for young people by young people
  • Promoting local career pathways
  • Raising aspirations of young people
  • Showcasing growth sectors and employers

“This has been a great opportunity to have input in the development of an employability advice website aimed at people my age. I have had fun designing and coming up with the themes and content of the site along with the other creative designers.

This website is a fantastic resource for young people in the Gatwick Diamond area who would like tips on getting a job and all other employment related topics. I had an amazing time interviewing employers so that you will even be able to hear things from their point of view.”
